Dallas Arboretum upcoming events

Starting Sept 21st is the start on the fall Mommy and me Mondays and Tiny Tot Tuesdays at the Dallas Arboretum. Mondays has Creative movement, Stroller fit and Kindermusik. Tuesdays only has the Kindermusik. Both days (included with your admission) has free crafts, free petting zoo and free face painting as well as all of the other fun things the arboretum has to offer. The great pumpkin festival will be going on from Sept 19-Nov. 1st including 25,000 pumpkins around the gardens.

If you think you might really enjoy these activities it would be worth it to purchase the family membership. We have used ours several times already and ours doesn't expire until March. You can bring up to 6 total people with one card and they don't have to be family. I have taken my neighbor and three kids. We didn't have to pay anything. You get free parking as well.

Free Museum Day Sept 26

This coming Saturday is the Free Museum Day!

Check out this site and print off your free admission for you and a guest at any one participating museum. You may use one admission card per household. It is only valid on Sept. 26, 2009. Hubby and I will be traveling back to town from my brother's wedding this day but I hope everyone will be able to take advantage of free admission. Check the site to see which museums are participating. I know that the Heard Museum in McKinney is on the list!

Little tip about prescription meds

I never really thought of doing this before but have had some success with finding coupons online for some prescription meds I am on. I found a Nasonex coupon online for $30 off each prescription making my OOP $10 instead of $40.

Also, I am on an acid reducer like Prilosec but there is no generic for Zegerid so I have been paying $40 a month for it. Recently, I found a $30 off coupon online as well making my OOP for this med $10. $60 a month saving on prescription meds is great!

Search around for something you are on. The meds website is a great place to start.

CVS visit 8/30

This one is not available anymore but I wanted to share my find from last week.

I purchased 3 Aveeno cleaning products for $28.oo. I had two CVS coupons- $5 off of a $25 purchase and also a $4 off of any facial products from the Ready fill coupon book that you have to ask for in the pharmacy. I also had a MQ for $10 off of 3 positively ageless products. My total with tax was $ 9.71 and a $10.00 Extra care buck printed off.

It was a $0.29 money maker!

This week I went and bought

2 Welches grape jelly (two $0.75 Q)

1 Glade soy candle ($3.00 Q)

2 Murphy's oil soaps (two $0.55 Q)

1 Dawn dish washing liquid ($0.50 Q)

1 10.00 gift I couldn't pass up

I also used a CVS $4 off $20 purchase Q

Used $10.00 of ECB

total= $9.49 and received 9.99 of ECB!

I sent hubby back with his EC card and coupon and got another Glade product with a coupon and made another $6.99 in ECB. Those are $3.00 money makers!

Lowe's Build and Grow

Hubby has signed my oldest up for his 4th FREE Grow and Build workshop at Lowe's on Saturday Sept 12th. It is from 10-11 and you have to register online at https://www.lowesbuildandgrow.com/
So far, they have made a school bus, treasure chest and helicopter. If it is your first time going they give the child an apron and safety goggles. They get a patch every time they come to sew on their apron.


While on the site you can also sign up for the clinic on Sept 26th to make a Firetruck!

Coach coupon Sept 1-7

There is a Coach outlet coupon for additional 20% off already reduced prices which runs from Sept 1-Sept 7. I am thinking I might run over to Coach at the Allen shops tomorrow for a anniversary present to myself! I have an extra coupon. Anyone want to go?

Bath and Body Works 8/28/09

I got some free stuff at Bath and Body Works last week that I wanted to tell you about. I purchased the blankets for $9.75 a piece and the Shea butter infused sock for $3.75 and got a Free pumpkin patch candle and Free limeade lip gloss.

Total= $24.61

(They did make me use my two coupons in two transactions)

Tom Thumb cereal deal 8/31

Today at Tom thumb I got 5 boxes of cereal for $4.42. You get an instant saving with your Tom Thumb card of $5 off of the 5 boxes of cereal. I got Kashi sunshine cereal and Post Honey Bunches of Oats. I had 3 Kashi $1.50 coupons from Vocal point (sign up if you want free samples and coupons) and a $1 off of two Post cereal coupons.

It doesn't matter that we now have 16 boxes of cereal in our house. We like cereal!

New Blog

I am so excited to start this new blog where I will be keeping up with deals, discounts, activities and free events around the North Dallas area. I have been finding great deals lately with manufacturers coupons and store coupons that I print off of the Internet. Coupons.com is a great site to get started with printing coupons. Set your printer to draft to save on ink, choose whichever coupons you like and print away. Also combining the manufacturer coupon with the store coupon makes for some sweet deals.

The reason why I want start this blog is so that I can share with you all of the great deals I have found so you will be able to enjoy the benefits of our area. We have so many varieties of stores within a small driving distance it makes for easy shopping and deal finding.
