Target printable coupons- compatible with Windows7

We recently purchased a new laptop on black Friday and I love it! The only negative about it so far has been not being able to print the online Target coupons. Everytime I have tried, since they redid their coupon software, it says it is not compatable with Windows 7 and they were working on fixing it soon. I was so pleasantly surprised that when I tried to print a coupon tonight it let me download their software and print coupons!

BOGO gift cards at the Melting Pot

My husband and I have really enjoyed going to the Melting Pot lately. We sit at the bar and order during their happy hour time period between 5pm and 6:30pm. The cheese and chocolate fondues are half price and so are the martinis.

Right now the Melting Pot is having two promotions and I apologize for not telling you about the first one sooner as it is ending tomorrow. For every $10 you donate to St. Jude's hospital you will get a $20 gift card. We donated $100 and got $200 in gift cards to use later. The Melting Pot in Addison assures us that we can use all gift cards together. We plan on using these and another gift card that we have to take my family out for a nice dining experience when they visit for Christmas.

The other promotion is buy a $100 gift card and get (4) $25 bonus gift certificates to be used in 4 separate visits for yourself or to give to someone.

Check their site or store for more details.

You might want to check out this blog for more restaurants that offer extra/free gift cards when you purchase a gift card.

Today's Groupon is Strikz

The Dallas Groupons are not in Frisco very frequently. This might make a nice gift for hubby or older children for the holidays and at an affordable price.

Check out today's Groupon at Strikz Entertainment in Frisco. It includes 3 game of bowling including shoe rental, $5 game card and 4 hours of video game play including laser tag for $19.00.

Hurry and grab this Groupon that is only available until tonight. If you purchase one then it will expire 6/9/2010. You could even buy several and do a fancy birthday party for your child between now and June.

Pei We Entree 25%off - December 2nd

Pei Wei will be having their Holiday Food Drive on December 2nd. You will get an entree for 25% off when you bring in a non-perishable food item to be donated to the local food pantry. It looks like only one entree on each check can be discounted. We have gift cards here from my husband cashing in his credit card points so this will help the gift card go a little longer.

Our Black Friday purchases

My husband has always gone out on Black Friday to get deals. This year was no different and I was happy to stay home away from the early morning crowds.

We weren't really looking for very many items since I did most of my kids Christmas shopping at Target in July when toys were 75% off. (see here). My husband got the Radio Flyer Big Flyer at Walmart for $30 (normally $62-$92). He got 4 cordless phones for $50.00 and 20 FREE AA batteries from Staples. He went to two Best Buys and found the Toshiba 4 GB laptop computer with FREE printer and carrying case for $500. He also went to Sam's club and purchased a wireless printer. Later in the day we returned it.

Then to top off the day, we realized our couches downstairs were 12 years old and really shabby so we purchased a couch and love seat at Ashley Furniture. They were less than $1,000 with a warranty and delivery. I would say we did our part to stimulate the economy.

Glade Candle Deal at Target continues

This deal has been going on for a while now and I have done it a few times already. I might just start my own Glade Candle store! You need these coupons to get the best savings. You should also get $10.00 of Target gift cards back for buying the 10 items!

The top coupon is $2.00 off of TWO Glade scented candle products (They are found inside the holiday glass refillable candle holder. You might also have a $1.50 off of ONE glade candle holder or tin coupon which was found in the tins of the non-holiday scents.

The middle coupon was found in 10/1/09 Smart Source section of Sunday's newspaper. (I think)

The bottom coupon was found at a Smart Source blinkie machine at Kroger (I took five to do my deal). The blinkie machines are the ones that you can find around grocery stores that blink a red light then spit out a coupon for you.

There is also a printable coupon available here.

Here is the deal: For every five holiday Glade scented oil products purchased, you get a $5.00 gift card.

Buy 5 Holiday Scented Oil Candle holders (tins or decorative glass holder) $2.50 each
Buy 5 Apple Cinnamon or Bayberry Spice Scented oil candle refills $2.50 each
(Make sure you use the Price scanners found around the store. When you scan the item it should say $5.00 gift card beside the price, if it doesn't then it is not included)

Total= $25.00

Use (5) Buy Any Glade scented oil candles holder, and get a refill pack FREE coupon
-$12.50

Use (5) Save $1.50 on any Glade candle holder
-$7.50
or
(2) Save $2.00 on Two glade scented oil products and (1) $1.50 off of 1 scented oil holder
-$5.50

Pay $5.00 or $7.00, but get TWO $5.00 gift cards

End up with an overage of $5.00 or $3.00

You can then submit for $5.00 SC Johnson Rebates. You have to use original receipts so if you want to take advantage of the family limit of 3 rebates per household then you need to ask for multiple copies of the original receipts. I have gotten two with the managers help. I don't think they can do more than two at the checkout area.

Here is a pic of some of my loot from a couple of shopping trips.

I wanted to add that I was given a hard time over this by one manager at Target. She kept explaining to me that the one coupon for buy one get one free was a coupon to be used for the two items. The cashier was very rude and the manager was not helpful. There is no such rule listed in their Corporate coupon policy. I would love to see it in writing if they do have such a rule. I had the whole transaction voided and said forget it eventually. Let's just say that I was not the quiet, subdued, soft spoken person I normally am. I have never had such hard time before....there were several things that the cashier was fussing about, not just the glade deal. So, just a warning to others that you might be given a hard time. Try going to customer service. They usually know what to do with problems.
I know that others in the couponing world use a coupon on the other item that is not free as long as it is a different item. I used 10 coupons for 10 products. This deal should work. I did not get any beeping today and the deal worked just fine.

Freebies at Kroger this week

Here is a good post by Common Sense with Money about the Freebies at Kroger this week during their Mega event! Make sure you get 10, 20, 30 or more items so you are sure to get the extra $5.00 off per 10. I was not careful enough during the last mega event and somehow only had 9 items. I grouped my coupons for this sale in groups of 10 items so I will be sure not to make that mistake again.

Also, not included in the Mega event is the Yaki Soba noodles ($1.00 each). There are $0.50 off coupons which doubles to make them FREE as well.

Have fun saving!

Thanks, Common Sense with Money!

Few helpful hints for the beginning couponer

I thought I would re-post this previous entry for anyone who did not get a chance to read it yet.

I would consider myself a beginning couponer but trying to learn quickly. I wanted to share some helpful hints I have learned recently.

These are several of the most popular websites for printing coupons:

Coupons.com
This is a great site to print coupons. There is a limit per print per computer and also a total print limit for each coupon available. Coupons limits get reset throughout the month and everything is reset on the first of each month. You need to put in your zip code for the town you live. For whatever reason, if you put in the zip code for Beverly Hills (90210) there seems to be better coupons...try it for yourself.

Redplum.com and SmartSource.com are both good sites to print coupons on your home printer.

Proctor and Gamble.com
This is a site you need to register for but you get coupons and free samples in the mail. You can also register your Kroger plus shopper's card and your Tom Thumb Reward card with P&G. By doing this, you will be able to utilize the P&G eSAVER. You may choose your own coupons to load onto your grocery store card and also print a list of the items you choose for your shopping trip (these seem to have a two month expiration date).

AllYou.com
All You is a magazine that you can subscribe to or can purchase at Walmart. There is frequently $70.00-$90.00 worth of coupons. Their website also has printable coupons available.

These sites are useful for clipless coupons:

Upromise.com
We actually signed up with Upromise as one of the ways to save for college over four years ago when we had our first child. We have close to $2,000 in our Upromise account without doing anything special...just shopping with our credit card. Check out the site if you haven't done so already. You can load coupons on your Upromise credit card and the amount is not saved on the item but put into your account instead. Many popular retail online shops give a percentage of the total amount purchased towards your Upromise account.

*A really helpful hint that I recently learned:* If you are are on a blog or site that takes you straight to something that has a button for a coupon for a specific product then after the first coupon prints make sure you press the back button then refresh button and it should automatically print another coupon for you. This was especially helpful recently when Smithfield bacon was on sale for 2 for $6.00. I had (2) $3.00 Q and I was able to get both packages for FREE at Tom Thumb!

A friend of mine said she recently got a virus on her computer when she went to a site to print coupons. We have not any problems with viruses. It would be a good idea to have your virus protection software up-to-date just in case.

It is a good idea to learn from my mistake and keep a file or sheet of paper with all of your login and password information. As you start signing up for more sites it gets harder to remember all of the passwords.

Let's all use our reusable shopping bags

I have several different reusable shopping bags but most of the time I leave them in the car. It seems that keeping track of two kids, my huge coupon notebook and my purse is all I can handle. If we have plastic bags around our house then I try to bundle them all up and return them to a store that has a bin that recycles them or use them for kitty litter waste. There are now several stores in our area that are jumping on the bandwagon to encourage use all with some incentives to use our reusable bags.

CVS recently started their green bag tag system. You purchase a green bag tag from CVS for $0.99 and get it scanned whenever you come into the store. Every 4th time you are get your bag tag scanned, you earn a $1.00 Extra Care Buck towards a purchase. I wonder if you could also get them to scan it for drive through pick up of prescription drugs?

Target has printed on the bottom of their receipt “Save 5 cents every time you use a reusable bag.

Sprouts also has an incentive for using reusable shopping bags. You get $0.05 credit for each reusable shopping bag you use as well.

Does anyone know of any other stores that are giving a credit for reusable shopping bags?

Would you like FREE tickets to the Theater?

Go here to freenightoftheater.net and click on the left hand side "Find a Show". These FREE tickets are available in many cities all over the country. In the Dallas Metro Area, there will be a new set of FREE tickets released on Monday, October 19th at 12 PM for performances occurring Oct. 22-Oct 28th. Write a little note on your calendar so you won't forget.

The purpose of this program is to reach people who would not normally go to the theater. Many people who have gotten the free tickets enjoyed their experience so much that they return again to purchase a ticket at a later date.

Target: Few freebies and Deals, $12.01 spent

I was shopping at Kroger on Preston yesterday and and got so excited when I found a display of the Kellogg's Antioxidant Fiber Plus bars. Maybe other Kroger's might have this display as well? Deals at Target:

Have you used your TGI Fridays burger coupon?

Our TGI Fridays FREE Jack Daniels Burger or Chicken sandwich coupons are expiring today that we received by becoming fans of TGI Fridays on Facebook. If yours are too you might want to take advantage of the coupons today!

Our family went out to eat last night. I don't even remember the last time I ate at a TGI Fridays so the menu was unfamiliar to me. We ordered a pizza kids meal for the boys to split with fruit and an extra mixed fruit on the side. It was plenty for the two of them. I ordered the Jack Daniels Chicken sandwich and hubby ordered the Jack Daniels Burger. Mine came with an option of several sides and I got the salad. Hubby got the sweet potato fries. We both enjoyed them very much. It was a great dinner out and our total to pay was $6.68 plus tip. We would have spent more going to a fast food restaurant. Thanks Woody!

On our receipt there is a survey code and we will get a coupon for a free appetizer when we fill it out online.

If you want more freebies at TGI Fridays you can sign up for more stripes through Facebook here

I am back and ready to blog, few Target deals

I am back to reality after a week at the beach, a nice long visit with my lifelong friend and her two twin girls. It was busy with 4 children in the house for 11 days. I wanted to really devote all of my time to everyone instead of running to the computer every hour. We have had a some kind of cold virus since her visit and are trying to get back to feeling well.

Anyways, I got some good deals in the last week. I went back to Target last night to see what I could find. I think I am falling out-of-love with Target at the moment. After spotting my favorite cashier and starting the check out process, he called over the "trainer" (I found out it was the trainer's last night working at that store). Several items I was purchasing were not working with the coupons I was using. I know many others all over the country have had success with them. I ended up having the items removed from the transaction, pulling them out of my bags and getting my coupons back. I have never had such a hard time at Target before. Thank goodness I was alone and my children were not with me. That would have been a nightmare! My experience last night has turned me off with shopping at Target for a while.

Some decent deals at Target I found were:

$2.44 for a 7.8 oz Colgate Total Whitening paste with Free toothbrush package on end cap
I used $1.00 off MQ making it $1.44. Inside the box was $10.00 worth of Target coupons for more Colgate-Palmolive products. I can combine these with manufacturers coupons for some good deals or free items. The coupons don't expire until 12/31/2009.

3 Free bath Buddies by Johnson and Johnson. I used 3-$1.00 off MQs from newspaper.
(I plan on sending my receipt to Johnson and Johnson for a Free Elegant Baby Bath Toy Frog Set.)

$1.25 Market Pantry fruit snacks

$1.09 dozen eggs

$1.50 each for 8 oz block of cheese

$4.99 Jimmy Dean D-lights breakfast sandwiches (4-pack), used $1.00 MQ and $1.00 Target Q= $2.99 each.

$1.75 Chex Mix, used 1 $0.50 MQ and $1.00 Target Q= $0.25-$0.50 each

$4.49 Glade Reed infusers and large candles, used $3.00 off MQ= $1.50 each

Shop Smart Look Fab at Stonebriar Mall!

I picked up my $10 Gift Card at Stonebriar Mall today. The Shop Smart desk is set up down stairs by the elevator in the center of the mall. They are there during the hours of the mall. There are specials running at several stores during the dates of September 17th-20th. See a complete list of stores here.

I got a separate deal where I showed my e-mailed confirmation number and the Shop Smart desk gave me a $10.00 gift card. I shopped at Sears and bought 2 jackets and 3 shirts for a total of $17.00! I used a $10.00 off a $10.00 purchase juniors department coupon. For my morning outing, I traded in my empty shampoo bottle for a FREE bottle of Fekkai shampoo. I used a coupon to get a FREE protein drink from GNC, picked up my FREE $10.00 mall gift card and got 5 tops/jackets for $17.00. Not too bad! Unfortunately, I left my stroller at the house so my 2-year old couldn't last any longer...otherwise I would have spent the $75.00 total using lots of other coupons/gift cards/deals that are available and picked up another $10.00 gift card.

For the readers that don't live locally, there are hundreds of malls participating this weekend in this promotion. I hope you can find one in your area. Check your zip code here.

Busy Few Days

I apologize for the lag in posts. With my husband's birthday, getting ready for my brother's wedding, packing, deal finding and taking care of my two children full time, I have been very busy the last couple of days. Tomorrow, I will be traveling and will be gone for a week. I will try to post some but am unsure when I will be able to find a computer to use or the time. Albertsons deals through Tuesday night!

This is from a Guest Blogger, my friend Vicki, who also knows how to find a great deal.

Here are some great coupon deals this week at Albertson’s:

I don’t typically shop at Albertson because the store is not just around the corner and prices tend to be a bit higher. However this week on the front page of their weekly add they had some wonderful deals. Please note the coupons on the front page had two different bars: Blue was manufacturer coupons and Red was Store coupons. So you could only use additional coupons with the Store coupons. Never the less there were still some great deals.

Florida’s Natural Orange Juice Reg 3.99 Coupon price 1.99 Limit one
Kraft Mayo 32 oz. Reg 4.29 Coupon price 1.99 Limit one
Kraft American Cheese Slices Reg. 3.49 Coupon price 0.99 Limit one
Capri sun Juice boxes Reg 2.11 Coupon price 0.99 Limit one
Digorno Pizza Reg. 6.99 Coupon price 2.99 Limit one
Apple Juice Reg. 1.99 Coupon price 0.99 Limit one
Oscar Meyer Lunch Meats Reg 4.49 Coupon price 0.99 Limit one
Velveeta Cheese Reg. 4.49 Coupon price 3.49
Totals: Reg 31.84 Coupon prices 14.42 = savings of $17. 42

Other good deals at Albertsons:

Planter Peanuts are regularly 3.49 a bottle, ad coupon for buy two at 0.99 each = 1.98. The bottle had an additional manufacture coupon for buy two get a $1.00 off, so I got two bottles of peanuts for 0.98 so that is a savings of $6.

Dial 3 bar soap was on sale for 1.99. I had a coupon for 0.35 (which Albertson tripled minus another 0.70) Final cost 0.94 cents

Boneless Petite Sirloin Steaks Albertson Coupon for Buy 1 Get 2 Free Final cost 14.74 which gave me three packages of nice steak preseasoned which for my family of four will be 3-4 meals.

Hamburger Helper normally 2.19 a box was on sale for 0.88 cents per box. Had a coupon for buy 3 get 0.75 off, so basically got 3 boxes for 0.63 cents a box.

Dannon Yogurt Coupon for 0.29 each for up to 20. I purchased 12 and had two coupons for buy 6 get 0.60 off, so I basically got four yogurts for free.

Dr. Pepper products reg 1.69 markdown to 0.78 cents each. It is a great time to stock up!

This coming Saturday is the Free Museum Day!
I wanted to remind you about this opportunity for a free/cheap family outing.

Print off your free admission for you and a guest at any one participating museum. You may use one admission card per household. It is only valid on Sept. 26, 2009. Hubby and I will be traveling back to town from my brother's wedding this day but I hope everyone will be able to take advantage of free admission. Check the site to see which museums are participating. I know that the Heard Museum in McKinney is on the list!

Upcoming Kroger Deals Starting 9/15

Stretching a Buck has compiled a list of deals at Kroger. She lives in Ohio but the deals should be similar. Make sure to check your local ad to compare deals and prices. I will be traveling out of town for my brother's wedding on Friday and will not be grocery shopping this week. We need to work on getting rid of our perishables.

CVS flu shots

The CVS stores that have a Minute Clinic are offering the flu shot for $25.00 just like most other pharmacies. CVS is advertising that they give you $100.00 worth of coupons if you get your flu shot at their store. I plan on going tomorrow and will update you all what kind of coupons will be offered. I really enjoyed the Ready Fill Coupon books that were available from the pharmacy in CVS but they just expired yesterday.

CVS and Walgreen's Sun. Sept 13th

I headed out to Walgreens without kids this morning to see what kind of deals I could find. To be honest, I don't think this week is very good for deals. At Walgreens I purchased:

2- Trident gum $0.97 and $0.75 ($1.00/2 MQ here)

Carefree ultra pantyliners (MQ here)

Pronamel for Children ($1.00 MQ and $2.00 Walgreens coupon from September savings)

Degree Sport for Men (MQ from the newspaper)

1.0 GB Memory Card- clearance $2.49

4- cans of Progresso soup- $1.25 each with in-store coupon ($1.10/3 MQ)

Total OOP= $8.05 but received a complimentary RR for $2.00

I ran across the street to CVS where Jack Link's Flamin' Buffalo Chicken Nuggets were BOGO. I had a coupon for a FREE bag from the magazine All You Aug. or Sept. issue(found at Walmart) so I got two bags of the Chicken Jerky for FREE! The bag that you can get for free at Walmart is bigger but I prefer the two separate smaller sized bags.

See receipt below. I hear that it works the same way if you have a manufacturer's coupon for BOGO free and the store is having a sale on that item BOGO free....you get both for free and should not have to pay anything out of pocket.

Walgreens visit Sat. Sept. 12th

I sent hubby to Walgreens Saturday afternoon to grab a few things before last week's sale ended. He purchased in his first transaction:

Scrubbing bubbles Automatic Cleaner $9.99 ($5.00 MQ here)

Glade Sense and Spray $5.99 ($4.00 MQ here)

Two Chex Mix bags $0.99 (2-$0.50 MQ from newspaper)

Total= $8.54 OOP but also got $3.00 RR and $2.00 RR

Then in the second transaction, he purchased another Scrubbing Bubbles shower kit $9.99 ($5.00 MQ) and the 4-pack of Peanut Butter Twix for $0.42.

For those beginners, learn from our lesson. You cannot use a Register Reward from Walgreens on the same item that prompted the first Register Reward. Example....see above. When my hubby purchased the second Scrubbing bubbles and paid with the $3.00 Register Reward, the new $3.00 Register Reward did not print.

He paid a total of $2.61 for the second transaction. This is a lesson learned and we will be careful not to repeat this mistake again. In addition to this, we learned that you have to have a filler item when purchasing a special item on sale so that is why he had to buy the candy.

We got our Cheesecake- Yummy!

We went to our local mall this afternoon and donated four cans of soup to the Feeding America organization. The Cheesecake Factory gave us two large slices of Ultimate Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake and two sets of coupons for a free slice with any $30 purchase.

In my last post about the free cheesecake, I said I really liked the music on their site. Pictured above is the girl who sings that song. She was there singing live! Tamar Kaprelian is so good...I really think she is going to make it BIG! The song New Day is my favorite and she had her CD available for a $2-$5 donation. It really reminds me of a theme song for The Biggest Loser Show....very inspirational.

Tamar kept talking on her microphone about how cute my youngest child was. My kids were dancing to her music then someone involved in the publicity started video taping them. We got asked if we would give an interview. The whole experience was lots of fun.
My boys were excited about their Cheesecake! It was really delicious!

September 9th- Pei Wei 50% off new dish

Tomorrow, on September 9th, Pei Wei Asian Diner will be promoting a new menu item by hosting a Ramen Noodle Exchange. If you bring in a package of store bought Ramen noodles, Pei Wei will give you 50% off of their new dish called Japanese Chile Beef Ramen (soy mirin glaze, bean sprouts, carrot, onion, scallion, cilantro, fresno chili rings, lime and egg noodles).

Pei Wei will be donating all of the collected Ramen Noodles plus $1.00/package to local food banks. This is a nice way to have a cheaper dinner and support the local food bank. This event is planned to start at 10am at all Pei Wei Diner Restaurants.

Target Printable Coupons

Target has become one of my favorite places to find great deals by combining manufacturer's coupons with store coupons. Here are two places to find Target weekly printable coupons and previous Target coupons that are not expired yet.

Check out my previous finds at Target here and here.

Mom's Best Oatmeal at CVS

Mom's Best Naturals Oatmeal is priced at CVS for $1.00 a box. If you use this coupon then you could get a box of oatmeal for $0.25. My youngest child goes through two packs a day many days! It is his favorite food.

Another great online coupon site

Mambo Sprouts is a great site to register for if you frequently purchase natural and organic products. If you register with them, then you will be included in the next coupon book mailing in February 2010. I received a coupon book in the mail several months ago and they are just now expiring. Here are some online printable coupons at Mambo Sprouts.

Deal Seeking Mom posted that Seventh Generation Diapers might be on clearance for as low as $3.29 at Kroger. A Seventh Generation Diaper coupon is available on Mambo Sprouts site making the diapers a possible great deal! Thanks, Deal Seeking Mom.

CVS visit 9/6

If I am going to honest about it, I actually visited 3 CVS stores. Don't think I am too crazy. There are several within a short driving distance and it was nice to get out to be away from my kids for an hour. I had all of my purchases planned out at the first store. Several things were already sold out or were not stocked for my scenario so I had to change plans.

First Transaction

2- Coppertone Nutra Shield Sunscreen $6.99 (2- $5.00 coupons)= $1.99 each

1- size 4 Huggies Jumbo pack $8.97 ($1.50 coupon + $1.50 goes to rebate at Upromise)

Total= $22.95

Used $4 off coupon on $20 purchase (from Ready fill coupon booklet in Pharmacy)

Used all three coupons that I had ($11.50 in coupons)

Used $6.99 from last week in ECB

My total OOP was.... $0.50

Second Transaction

Large Jar of Frank's Hot sauce on clearance for $0.25

A Pet Shop activity book with marker on clearance for $1.49

LifeLock DVD $2.99 (Honestly not sure what this. Inside the card is a DVD-ROM that you can view on your computer about identity theft. Then, they want you to enroll for $10.00 a month and if you do not cancel your membership during the trial period, you will get a $10.00 CVS gift card.) Hubby wasn't too happy with this purchase. I am not quite sure why he is bent out of shape; you do get $2.99 in ECBs for it! I had to ask up front for the DVD and they grabbed it out of the stock room for me.

Total= around $4.75

Used $3.00 ECBs from last week

My total OOP was... $1.87 but also got $2.99 in ECBs

Third Transaction

I was a sucker for the 90% summer clearance items so I bought

Lion bubble blower $1.29

Adult size swim mask $0.79

2 swim rings $0.19 and $0.29

1 Schick Slim Triple 3 disposable razor (10 ct) $6.99 ($3.00 coupon)

Used $2.99 ECBs (from previous transaction)

My total OOP was... $3.85 but also got $4 in ECBs

10 items for $6.22 and $4.00 in ECB and $1.50 sent to Upromise!

Other good deals at CVS are:

Aussie Shampoo, Conditioner and Styler...Pay 0.99 after ECBs

Neutrogena Cosmetics (BOGO for 3 days only)

Scope outlast...Pay $0.99 after ECBs even better with coupons

Great Deals at Target until Sat. 9-5-09

I have always loved Target but felt like their prices were high...until recently.
I purchased:

3- Glade scented oil candles $1.66 (used a $1.50 Q inside each tin)= $0.16 each

3-Glade scented oil candle refill packs (used 3 purchase a tin and get refills free Q)=FREE

3 boxes of Special K cereal bars $2.39 (used 3 $0.75 Q and 3 $0.50 Target Q*)= $1.14 each

1 box of Special K Crackers $ 2.39 ($1.00 Q and the $0.50 Target Q would not work)= $1.39
But, since I purchased the 4 boxes of special K, it prompted a $5.00 gift card for next purchase.
So each box would actually be FREE (if you count the gift card)

Gold N' Plump chicken breast on sale for $3.10 ($1.00 Q and $1.00 Target Q)= $1.10

4 Sobe Waters $1.00 each (BOGO Q)= $0.50 each

2 Campbell's Select Soups $0.94 each ($0.50/2 Q)= $0.69 each

2 Progresso with extra Fiber soups $2.00 each ($1.00/2 Q)= $1.50 each

2 Apple cinnamon Sense & Spray $5.69 each ( used 2 $4.00 Q)= $1.69 each

*Technically, Target doesn't have to take 3 Target coupons for the same thing on one transaction but I found a nice cashier that pushed everything but one coupon through.

Paid= 16.61 OOP, got the FREE $5.00 gift card.

Then I purchased more Baseball card holders for my coupon notebook in a separate transaction.
Saved $68.63
I am loving Target!

State Fair in Dallas Sept. 25th - October 18th

The State Fair of Texas will be in Dallas September 25th to October 18th. Kroger is selling discounted tickets for $13.50. If you would like to ride the DART and get dropped of at the front of the State Fair then the cost at Kroger would be $16.00 (including admission).

In addition, I found out through a recent e-mail that the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science will be having discounted admission prices during the dates of the State Fair. It will only cost $1 to get into each building (with admission to the State Fair) The museum is a stone's throw away from the front entrance of the Fair. There will also be extended hours at the museum of 10-6 daily. This museum is so much fun and downstairs is the Children's museum (ages 7 and under). If you haven't been to this museum yet, during the Fair might be a great time to try it!

Upcoming Chick fil-A Freebies

On Labor Day, September 7th from 10am to closing (nationwide) Chick fil-A will be giving away free original chicken sandwiches to anyone wearing any article of clothing with any team logo on it. In addition you can go to the Chick fil-A website and sign up under join the wave button. It appears as the promotion is still going on. They will send you a coupon for a free original Chick-fil-a sandwich.

For the local North Dallas folks...The Chick-fil-A at Custer and 121 is giving away free chicken biscuits every Friday morning in September from 6-9 am (I am assuming this is dine-in only, let me know and I will post otherwise). Grab a chicken biscuit on the way to school or mother's day out for your little one's. What a nice Friday treat! Chick-fil-A Rocks!

Daily Freebies

I wanted to share with you a site that you might not know about called shop4freebies. Every day new Freebies are posted and you will be emailed a link to that day's freebies. Most of them require that you sign up with their site and they will send you a free item and sometimes coupons for items that you might normally buy. Today there is a Scrubbing Bubbles gift pack, Bare Naked Grain-ola, Quaker granola bars, Venom drink freebies as well as several others that might interest you. Go check it out. It is fun to get free stuff in the mail!

Two cool sites for discounts

I have recently found this site called Groupon.com. The premise is that every day there is one deal in the Dallas area. The company/establishment sets a minimum number of people they want to sign up for the deal. If enough people sign up for the deal/discount then it will be granted to all, if not then nothing happens and your credit card is not charged.

Recent deals that were listed were teeth whitening at Bright smiles at North Park mall, Elizabeth Arden spa services, and today's is $25 of Luckie's Smokehouse for $10. Here is the link.

Also, Restaurants.com has some good deals with coupon codes frequently. The restaurants in the North Dallas area are not that great but I found a really nice one in my parent's home town. I got them (3) $25 gift certificates for a total of $9 ($3 a piece) for taking us to the beach for a week. I will post some coupon codes as soon as I know of any.
